The Palace of Versailles was originally built in 1623 by Louis XIII.
It has since grown to become the most awe inspiring palace
in the world. In 1682, the Chateau de Versailles became the official residence of the
Court of France.
The Treaty of Versailles, which officially ended World War I, was signed at
Versailles Palace on June 28, 1919. Versailles is located south west
of Paris in the Ile-de-France Region.
