Senior Aspen Reynolds celebrated her first hole-in-one on the No. 6 yellow at CCGC

Have you been trying to think of a good way to celebrate your first hole-in-one in golf?

Some people have waited a long time and may never get the same opportunity that Watertown High School senior girls golfer Aspen Reynolds and some of her teammates recently got at Cattail Crossing Golf Course.

On Monday, May 6, Reynolds and the Arrows were practicing at CCGC when Reynolds (a four-year varsity regular for the Arrows) made her first-ever hole-in-one on the par-3 No. 6 hole on the yellow course.

Senior teammate Avery Palmquist used her phone to take a video of Reynolds pulling the ball out of the cup and also continuing to roll for what came next.

What was that you asked? It was Reynolds, senior Shelby Pearson and freshman Gabi Olson who headed to the water pond near the green and jumped in. You can hear the wind howling and it doesn’t seem like it was a warm day.

It was just another memorable moment in what has been a good season for the Arrows, who have battled Mitchell and Aberdeen Central for top honors all season.

The three teams are expected to take the lead in next week’s Eastern South Dakota Conference tournament as well as the State Class AA tournament June 3-4. Both tournaments will be held at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton.

The Arrows played their only home appearance of the season on Tuesday when they hosted the Watertown Invitational at CCGC. Watertown finished second behind Aberdeen Central in the competition.

Reynolds made the most of her final home appearance of her career, finishing in third place with an xxx and leading the Arrows with a 78.
